Accessing QuickTime “legacy” codecs
For those following, and who are using Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and are wondering where the QuickTime System Preferences panel has gone (to turn on the legacy codecs option to get the MJPEG format as an option) enter the following command in a terminal window:
qtdefaults write LegacyCodecsEnabled yes

Exporting WMV from Final Cut Pro
Ok article on exporting Windows Media from Final Cut Pro with Expression Encoder 3 (only version 4 is available now.) Expression Encoder is nice because it can read QuickTime files (finally!), although we’ve had some glitchy encodes with a sporadic pixelation in the bottom 20 pixels or so every 2 – 3 sec.
